Bush Immersion at Umlani
Umlani Bushcamp (DLB&B) is a truly unique, family-owned establishment crafted entirely from locally sourced materials. Here, the focus is on immersing yourself in the natural beauty of the bush, rather than being disconnected behind screens and modern comforts. While each Eco-Hut provides spacious and comfortable accommodations with en-suite bathrooms and outdoor showers, you won’t find Wi-Fi, air conditioning, or televisions throughout the camp. Umlani is dedicated to minimal environmental impact, and many of the staff have been part of the Umlani family since its founding in 1989, creating a strong sense of community.

DAYS 4 - 6 in Timbavati & Kruger Park
Riverside Safari Retreat
Tanda Tula is a place that leaves a lasting impression. Established on a shoestring budget in 1976, it remains in the caring hands of the Scott family, who wholeheartedly embody the concept of “transformation” so vital in South Africa. Transformation here signifies the essential shift from exclusive white, male ownership of land, businesses, and resources to a more equitable distribution, allowing the majority of the population to share in these resources. Don Scott, one of the owners at Tanda Tula, passionately advocates for this transformation: “It is imperative that we all commit to a transformation in our industry, especially one that nurtures the talents of young black individuals. As a company, Tanda Tula wholeheartedly believes this is the key to ensuring our businesses remain sustainable in the long run. Succession planning must be inclusive and representative of the country’s demographics.” Tanda Tula not only focuses on the development of its staff but also places great importance on the education of their children. They generously provide full scholarships for their children to attend Southern Cross School, a renowned private school offering world-class education from pre-primary to 12th grade. Tanda Tula’s commitment to the spirit of the early days of safari is evident in their choice of tented accommodation. However, these are no ordinary tents but rather luxurious five-star suites with canvas walls. The goal is to maintain the essence of the safari’s bygone era while adding modern comforts and conveniences. Tanda Tula offers two distinctive camps: the Safari Camp and the Tented Camp. Both camps feature just twelve spacious tents, generously sized at over 50 square meters, complete with large private bathrooms, outdoor showers, a comfortable sitting area, and a private deck. Your stay at Tanda Tula promises not only an unforgettable safari but also a luxurious and authentic connection with the untamed beauty of the African wilderness.

Dining at Tanda Tula is an experience as unique as the setting itself. Meals are always enjoyed al fresco and are never held in the same location twice. You’ll be transported to different parts of the reserve for each meal, where guests come together around one long table, attended to by hosts, staff, and rangers.
