Where It All Began

Explore South Africa’s largest wilderness with ease

The inland section of South Africa north of the Garden Route (i.e. not along the coastline) holds so many treasures.

This week, whilst planning a trip for two of our clients, we came across this super offering near Willowmore. This small town in the Western Cape is the gateway to the Baviaanskloof Wilderness, an enormous public park and largest wilderness reserve in the country.

Getting to grips with this vast area is a challenge, so the team at Go Baviaans have designed a series of ethical and sustainable activities that allow you to learn of and experience this part of the world with ease.

Choose from their San Paintings Walk, their Leopard Trail Run, Slackpacking Leopard Trail (over four days) and the Cedar Falls Day Hike. All four trips take you to stunningly beautiful natural surroundings which have been described by Getaway Magazine as ‘filled with moments of extremely beautiful living’

Everything is run and managed with the assistance of in conjunction with the local community and prices start from a very reasonable R1 180 per person for the four-day trail (£62 – $80 – €70).
