The long drought is over and Africa’s most cosmopolitan city welcomes you with open arms.
We’ve never been so grateful for the winter in Cape Town! After a series of very cold and wet months (long were they awaited), last week Friday the combined system water storage for the city got to 75.9% full.
Admittedly, that’s because most of the smaller dams are over 90% full but the biggest dam, Theewaterskloof, is still below 60% and that does not bode so well.
The city is now talking about relaxing some water restrictions, whereas other citizens are saying it’s too soon and we should wait to see what the spring (and summer) bring. One thing we can all agree on is that Cape Town is very much back on the market and with the rand at its weakest level in years, you know it’s time to come home!
Cape Town is widely acknowleged to be the most cosmopolitan and creative city in sub-Saharan Africa – not just its amazing food culture, 400 years of history, stunning location but its people make this a place you can never visit enough and simply have to visit at least once.
