Get ready for an 18-day family safari that kicks off in Johannesburg. You’ll spend two days exploring Soweto’s vibrant history and discovering the origins of humanity. From Joburg, hop on a flight to Victoria Falls for two thrilling nights along Zimbabwe’s Zambezi River.
Next, venture into Botswana by land and then take a flight to the stunning Okavango Delta. Spend seven nights in two different camps, immersing yourself in the wild beauty of Africa during this unforgettable family safari.
Your adventure continues with a flight to Cape Town from Maun, Botswana. Over five days, you’ll enjoy seal snorkeling, a scenic tour of the Cape Peninsula, a Table Mountain climb, visits to Robben Island and local youth projects, delicious Cape cuisine, a trip to the V&A Waterfront, and a walking tour of the Old Town.

DAY 1 - 3 in Johannesburg
The City of Gold
You’ll be accommodated at The Peech Hotel, a Fair Trade Accredited establishment, where you’ll enjoy bed and breakfast for all three nights. It is a unique hotel housed in a 1950’s Art Deco-style building, owned by the same family for generations. James Peech is actively involved in daily operations, preserving the essence of a grand family home. Your journey begins with a visit to Soweto, the birthplace of South Africa’s democracy. Here, you’ll explore the Apartheid Museum and Nelson Mandela’s house, immersing yourself in the country’s rich history. On the second day, you’ll head to Constitution Hill, a former prison that now serves as a beacon of South Africa’s democratic freedom. Afterward, take a breather at The Wilds Nature Reserve, a perfect spot for the younger members of your group to enjoy some outdoor fun. Day three takes you on an adventure outside the city to the Cradle of Humankind and the Sterkfontein Caves. Here, you’ll step back in time to meet the earliest hominids, our ancient ancestors. The day concludes with a visit to the tranquil Nirox Gardens, a haven of serenity amidst the bustling city.

DAY 4 - 5 in Victoria Falls

Your night’s stay will be at the cozy Mbano Manor Hotel, nestled in an ancient teak forest, promising a comfortable and elegant experience. On Day 4 of your journey, you’ll embark on a flight from Johannesburg to the breathtaking Victoria Falls, recognized as one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A local guide will meet you upon arrival to show you the falls and the nearby rainforest. You’ll see animals like monkeys, baboons, and hornbills, and learn about the area’s history and culture, along with its fascinating myths. Day 5 is all about exploring Zambezi National Park, a vast area with diverse wildlife, including elephants, lions, buffaloes, leopards, giraffes, zebras, and antelopes. An experienced ranger will lead you on a morning game drive, helping you spot wildlife and sharing conservation insights. In the afternoon, you’ll visit the historic Zambezi Bridge for stunning views of the falls and the river. Thrill-seekers can enjoy a 70-meter free-fall gorge swing followed by a 95-meter pendulum swing over the Zambezi River. In evening you’ll cap off your Victoria Falls adventure with a dinner cruise on the mighty Zambezi River. You will board a spacious and comfortable boat and enjoy a delicious meal and drinks as you cruise along the river. Keep an eye out for the diverse wildlife that inhabits the riverbanks, including hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and a variety of bird species. Before returning to Mbano Manor Hotel for your last night in Victoria Falls, you’ll have the chance to witness a stunning sunset over the water and the moonlight casting its glow on the falls.

DAY 6 - 9 in Okavango Delta
Your Road Journey Begins
Your destination is Delta Camp (DLB&B), an eco-friendly lodge offering an authentic delta experience. The camp features seven spacious chalets, each with a private deck and en-suite bathroom, constructed from natural materials that blend seamlessly with the environment. Additionally, the camp boasts a dining area, lounge, bar, and library, all with breathtaking delta views.

Day 6 marks your departure from the awe-inspiring Victoria Falls. You’ll embark on a road journey to Botswana, where you’ll catch a Delta Air flight to the Okavango Delta—a remarkable UNESCO World Heritage Site, known for its incredible biodiversity. As you soar above this lush and remote landscape, keep your eyes peeled for majestic wildlife like elephants, lions, leopards, hippos, and giraffes. Days 7 and 8 will be filled with two activities per day, either on foot or by mokoro (dugout canoe). Walking safaris allow you to intimately connect with nature, observing the delta’s finer details like tracks, flora, and insects. Accompanied by skilled guides, you’ll gain insights and stories about the area. Mokoro trips offer a tranquil exploration of the delta’s waterways and islands, providing opportunities to spot aquatic animals and diverse birdlife. A local poler will expertly navigate the channels and lagoons. On Day 9, you’ll have a unique chance to visit a nearby village and engage with the local community. Here, you’ll discover their traditions, customs, beliefs, as well as the challenges and opportunities they face. Witness how they harness the delta’s natural resources for their daily needs, including fishing, farming, and crafting. This experience will deepen your understanding of the Okavango Delta’s culture and history.

DAYS 10 - 12 in Okavango Delta
A Game Viewer
On Day 10, you’ll fly again with Delta Air to Camp Savuti (DLB&B) where you’ll exchange the mokoro for a game viewer, this being a drier area than Delta Camp. Here, you’ll enjoy a 3-day stay in a diverse landscape featuring open plains, woodlands, and the iconic Savuti Marsh. This variety of land is home to lots of different animals and plants, making it a great place for all sorts of wildlife. Your lodging at Camp Savuti will be in a private and tranquil Meru-style tent, elevated on wooden platforms to provide an elevated vantage point overlooking the Savuti Channel. From your tent, you can take in the beautiful views and observe the wildlife in their natural habitat. Camp Savuti is renowned for its exceptional wildlife, boasting one of the highest wildlife concentrations on the African continent. The Savuti Marsh, fed by the Savuti Channel, is one of the best places to see predators like lions, known for their skills in hunting elephants. You’ll also find African wild dogs and other hunters like hyenas, cheetahs, and leopards.Birdwatching enthusiasts will be delighted by the region’s abundant bird species. Camp Savuti is eco-friendly, using solar panels for power, so you can enjoy the sounds of nature without any noisy machines.

DAY 13 - 17 in Cape Town

Today, Day 13, you’ll bid farewell to the wilderness and take a flight to the bustling city of Cape Town. Here, you’ll have the chance to experience the excitement of seal snorkeling. You’ll find yourself swimming with hundreds of playful Cape fur seals in their natural environment and soaring through the air above picturesque mountain slopes. If there is time, we suggest taking a boat cruise to Duiker Island where you can observe more seals and other marine creatures. You’ll explore the best of Cape Town at your own pace on Day 14 with a trip aboard the City Sightseeing Bus, hopping on and off as you please. You can choose from three different routes, covering the city center, the Atlantic seaboard, and the Constantia Valley. Alternately you can hike up Table Mountain with “The Fynbos Guy” as your guide. Once at the top, your efforts will be rewarded with breathtaking views of the city, the ocean – not to mention a profound sense of accomplishment. Enjoy lunch in the cosy restaurant on the top of the mountain before heading back down in a cable car. On Day 15 you’ll join Uthando, a unique approach to philanthropic travel, as you visit inspiring community development projects in the less affluent areas of Cape Town. You’ll delve into the history and culture of the people, witnessing their resilience and creativity. Your day will also include a visit to Robben Island, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where Nelson Mandela and other political prisoners were held during the apartheid era. You’ll hear their stories, see their cells, and gain a deeper understanding of South Africa’s past and present. Day 16 will be devoted to a full-day tour of the Cape Peninsula, a stunning natural area that juts out into the Atlantic Ocean. Your itinerary will include visits to Cape Point and the Cape of Good Hope, the continent’s most southwestern tip, where you’ll relish panoramic views and experience the rich biodiversity. You’ll also have the chance to meet the charming penguins at Boulders Beach – be sure to watch out for the cheeky baboons that roam the area. Your guide will take you along the scenic coastal road, stopping at picturesque fishing villages and historic sites along the way. On Day 17, you’ll discover the secrets of Cape Town on a walking tour through the city. You’ll see the landmarks and monuments that tell the story of the city, from its colonial origins to its multicultural present. Destinations include the Castle of Good Hope, the Company’s Garden, the Bo-Kaap, the District Six Museum, and more. You’ll also experience the vibrant street life and the local cuisine, and get tips from your guide on the best places to shop, eat, and drink.
