Your Activities

The next three days will be dedicated to exploring Table Mountain, a natural wonder that boasts a rich biodiversity and a stunning panorama. You will be accompanied by your experienced and knowledgeable guide, Dominic Chadbon, who will share with you the secrets and stories of this majestic mountain. On the first day, you will hike up the Platteklip Gorge, a moderate trail that follows a ravine to the summit. Along the way, you will see various plants and animals that are endemic to the mountain, such as the protea, the sugarbird, and the dassie. You will also learn about the geology and history of the mountain, and how it has shaped the culture and identity of Cape Town. Once you reach the top, you will be rewarded with a breathtaking view of the city, the ocean, and the surrounding mountains. You can also visit the cable car station, where you can buy souvenirs, snacks, and drinks. On the second day, you will tackle the Nursery Ravine, a more challenging trail that involves some scrambling and climbing. This route will test your fitness and courage, as you will ascend steep slopes, rocky ledges, and metal ladders. But don’t worry, your guide will be there to help you and ensure your safety. You will also have plenty of opportunities to admire the scenery and take photos. On the third and final day, you will experience the ultimate thrill: abseiling off the edge of the mountain. You will descend 112 meters down a sheer cliff face, with nothing but a rope and a harness to support you. This is not for the faint-hearted, but it is an exhilarating and unforgettable way to end your adventure. You will feel the adrenaline rush as you hang over the abyss, and the awe as you gaze at the horizon. You will also have a chance to see some of the rare and endangered plants that grow on the cliffs, such as the red disa and the Table Mountain ghost frog.
