Are you ready to take on the world, climb your own summits, and eat bugs for breakfast? Then you’ll want to take a page out of Bear Grylls’ book! Grylls, the well-known adventurer and motivational speaker, recently conquered Lion’s Head in Cape Town, South Africa, and shared his story with the world.
Grylls, who’s best known for his popular show Running Wild with Bear Grylls and his love of adventure, was in South Africa to deliver a motivational speech to 2000 global entrepreneurs. He spoke about the importance of perseverance and keeping your head and heart in check as you climb to the summits in your life. And what better way to demonstrate that message than by climbing one of Cape Town’s most iconic mountains?
With a member of his team, Adam Hassan, Grylls set out to conquer Lion’s Head. Along the way, they bumped into some young members of the World Scouting Organisation who were halfway up the mountain. Grylls, always up for a good adventure, posed for photos with the scouts and shared his wisdom with them.

Grylls’ love for South Africa is no secret, and he’s always felt a special connection to the adventure community there. In fact, during an online press conference before the South African premiere of National Geographic’s Running Wild with Bear Grylls: The Challenge, Grylls praised the country and its people. “South Africa is always a place so close to my heart, and you guys are always so warm and encouraging about all of my stuff. It really means a lot to me.”
But Grylls’ conquest of Lion’s Head is just the latest in a long line of achievements and adventures. The British adventurer, writer, television presenter, and businessman has been entertaining audiences for years with his life-threatening adventures and his television series Man vs. Wild. And he’s not slowing down anytime soon – his latest adventure series, I Survived Bear Grylls, is set to hit screens via selected networks in May.
At the end of the day, Grylls’ conquest of Lion’s Head serves as a reminder that we all have our own mountains to climb, and that with a little perseverance and a lot of heart, we can all reach the summit. So, what are you waiting for? Get out there and start climbing ! Just don’t forget your bug spray.
