Travelling with children to South Africa

Key things to know:

• The birth certificate must be original – copies are not accepted, even if certified or legally endorsed.

• The certificate must clearly show the details of both parents.

• Abridged certificates (which may only show the child’s or one parent’s details) are not valid for entry.

• If only one parent is travelling or if either adult is not the child’s biological parent, additional documentation may be required. Please confirm requirements before departure.
